After the usual morning training, I tagged along with Guro Jason, my personal friend and Martial Arts trainer, to The Claremont Village for Earth Day Celebration. They had a lot of booths promoting environmental solutions along with their services & products. They had some pretty inspiring things there. Later that afternoon, I along with The Cruz family, witnessed my colleague Iris Magboo performed some Hula dances with her Halau (Hula Academy) at Pilgrim Place for their Polynesian & Micronesian Cultural Celebration. They did such an awesome job captivating me that it didn't dawn to me to pull out my phone to capture the stills. This event gave me the opportunity to help put away materials that the kids used for the arts and crafts. I wish I would've known ahead of time so I could've helped out more. Next on the agenda was to find a needle for Guro JC's record player so we ended up at Rhino Records. I even suggested buying it online but Guro JC had a point when he said we should support our local stores. I took the Metrolink train back home with a mean ol' headache from not having my caffeine dose for the day. I crashed for 3 hours when I got home, feeling like crap for not having had washed up after a sweaty day (yuck). Oh well. It was laundry time for the sheets anyway. Thanks to Guro JC, Chrissy, Zayda & Jenali for hanging out with me. |
